Rotary Club Presents $10,000 to Safer Dallas, Better Dallas |

On October 1, the Rotary Club of Dallas Foundation presented a $10,000 check to Safer Dallas, Better Dallas to help in funding the organization’s support for the Dallas Police Department. Accepting the check on behalf of Safer Dallas, Better Dallas were Charles Terrell, chairman, and Gary Griffith, president. Over the past several years, the Rotary Club of Dallas Foundation has donated$120,000 to Safer Dallas, Better Dallas. The mission of Safer Dallas Better Dallas is (1) to protect the citizens of Dallas from becoming victims of crime and engage them in a partnership with the Dallas Police; (2) to support the efforts of Dallas police officers; and (3) to make Dallas America’s safest big city. Safer Dallas Better Dallas is seeking additional funding to provide Taser stun devices, support officer recruiting advertising, and purchasing a downlink system for the police helicopter, electronic citation printers, reality-based training equipment and enhancements for search cameras. The Rotary Club of Dallas Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the 200-member Rotary Club of Dallas.Founded in 1911, the downtown club is the oldest service organization in the city. |
